With the wood floors throughout the house and 3 shedding animals, we decided that sweeping and vacuuming each day was a bit much so we decided to welcome Georgina into our home. She is amazing and vacuums that floor when I am washing dishes or just relaxing on the couch. Ace, the pup, has told us many times by barking ferociously that he does not approve of her.

The many faces of Ace
Ace, our puppy, is a 2 year old Australian Shepherd. He has been through the remodel project with us every step of the way and usually right in our steps as as we are working, getting paint on himself and bringing toys for us to throw or just coming over for a hug. The only part he doesn't like is when we run the vacuum cleaner. It has never hurt him, but he runs and hides when it goes on, which he tells us far too often. Enjoy the many faces of Ace.
You can't see me! This is my new hideout. No one can get my bone!
Another trip to the house
I love cuddling with my toys and watching TV
See, I really like TV. I hope there is an animal soon.
Updated picture finally!
and old family room.....
We got out carpet in the family room today which makes the space warm and we definately feel the presence of Uncle Adam with us. This was his favorite room to watch his cowboy movies. As you can see in some of the pictures, which was a bit erie, he was with us. Look for the orbs. I took tons of pictures just to see if it was my lens, but it wasn't. It was as though he was looking at every corner of the room and inspecting out work. I believe he is very happy for us and glad we kept his house.

Countdown to Spring Break!
Thank goodness Spring Break is almost here! Between grading, the house, planning and many other things, there has been no time to breathe! It will be lovely to go to bed at night without the anxiety of having to grade and get plans together a whole week! Now, I say that, but I will be grading, but it will be on my time. What a concept!
We are in the final days of the remodel, thank GOODNESS! the kitchen is beautiful with the final touches going on today and tomorrow. Finally a stove will be in tomorrow! I am so excited to bake a tri-tip with peas and potatoes! The family room carpet will also be in. What a difference that will make. (pictures will be posted at the end of the week)

Feeling the time crunch!
It's been a couple weeks since I posted due to the fact that I have way too much going on! Keith and I are at our 3 month mark until the wedding. I am at T-1.5 weeks until my bridal shower at my house. I am really excited for it, but at the same time am feeling extremely crunched. Our tile was not in this past week as it was supposed to be so we have now been about 2 months without a kitchen and a room that has a rubber floor in desperate need of carpet. In the time frame of living in the new house without a stove and oven, I realized that I actually do enjoy cooking and find it very relaxing. I had never really thought too much about it before. So, I am really looking forward to a stove and brand spankin new one at that! At least I got my kitchen stuff unpacked last weekend thanks to my Mom and sister.
So, I woke up yesterday, Monday, a day off school, to the lovely sound of hammers and the tile saw! I was so excited! The tile in the kitchen is getting done! But why does it always happen that the thing you want most doesn't happen at the best time. Why do I say this? Well, I had just woken up after 7 hours of sleep due to the fact that I sat in my car the evening before in traffic leaving South Tahoe for 7 hours! It was definately a memory and a lesson that people need to follow the caltrans rules of chains and 4x4. Some person who thought their car could make the pass without either found themselves being towed and taken to the hospital. What a day!
In the mean time as well, we are anxiously awaiting two friends to have their babies! It is such an exciting time and we can't wait to see Baby Girl Johnson and Baby A Boland!
Will post pics of the finished kitchen and carpeted room soon!

check in time
Still doing some rearranging and unpacking
So, Life goes so fast that at times, I have no idea where the weeks have gone. We are 3.5 months away from our wedding day. Invitations will hopefully get finished this weekend so they can be sent out asap. I still vividly remember Keith proposing on May 16th last year. It didn't seem like June 2009 would come fast enough. It came way too fast, but everything is coming together.
The house is coming along well. Our cabinets came in and the granite may go in tomorrow with tile and appliances following soon afterward. Once this rain stops, our windows can go in. I just ask that it is all done by April 4th for my Bridal Shower and that we can take the contractor paper off the floor and clean the house. (That's 4 months since we started!!!!)

While planning a wedding, Keith and I also bought a house and decided to remodel it at the same time. We began December 1st and as of today, we are waiting on the last room, the KITCHEN! We are told the cabinets will be in tomorrow and the kitchen will be done by Friday. That would be awesome! Our china cabinet could truly be used for China and not for cans of soup, napkins, scissors, plastic and paper plates and cups. The remodel has been amazing and very enjoyable to watch transform.
With the remodel, we now have beautiful wood floors thoughout the whole house (not just the 3 bedrooms), air conditioning and vent pipes that actually connect under the house, 2 brand new bathrooms. Soon we will also have new windows and insulation in the house as well. Emily cannot wait for these! The house is so cold!
So, the wedding is coming along very well! Dress...check, bridemaids and groomsmen....check, location...check, food...check, cake...check, invitations...check. There is more, but no need to drag on. It is all coming together wonderfully and is truly excciting!
Thank you to all who have helped along the way and supported us in all our decsisions!
